14 October 1938. Thomas McCourt from Yorke Street (centre left) with his new wife Frances (nee Rowe) on right, Tommy also has his arms around his mother Mary McCourt on left. His new sister-in-law Molly at back on left and other guests including Molly’s husband John O’Sullivan. Tommy and Frances (Fanny) had just got married in St. Nicholas’s Church, Dundalk but had traveled to Newry for the wedding breakfast. Frances though perhaps this was a money saving exercise. This train line and station located on the Quays in Newry are now closed. The current Newry train station is located at the former Bessbrook Station outskirts of the town on the main Dublin-Belfast line.
